Hood Cleaning

The Kitchen exhaust system is cleaned many ways by different vendors using different types of pressure washers and chemical degreasers. However, up until April 26th of 2012, there was no standard in the steps and process to make sure the cleaning is done correctly keeping safety of the techs and facility in mind. International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA), an international non-profit trade organization committed to fire prevention and life safety announced the availability of a new American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard called the IKECA C10-2011, Standard for Cleaning of Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Systems.  Now all organizations connected to hood cleaning including the authorities having jurisdiction have a guide line that augments the NFPA #96 2011 standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection.  Grease Stop is a member of IKECA and is committed to follow the C-10 standard for their customers. The major components in the C-10 standard include:

Process Personnel Protection Cleaning Processes and Controls Exhaust Duct Access and Labeling Exhaust Cleaning Process Reporting

Grease Stop also takes before and after pictures of the job including a final video walkthrough for the customer to review.  This will be uploaded to our website under their personal login to view the pictures and service report the next day.  When we call the customer the next day we will be able to discuss any issues that might of have happened or any deficiencies that we discovered by viewing the pictures.
